MBC have interest for Coffee Prince Season 2
Lead by Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye, Korea’s MBC Channel’s popular drama Coffee Prince broadcasted Episode 17 Finale on the 26th August. Unfortunately, ratings were unable to break 30%, only reaching 27.7%. MBC has already expressed interest in filming a sequel
The night before, Coffee Prince’s actors and staff went to some Charcoal beef restaurant in Seoul for celebration party and to watch the finale together. On the night, bills were paid by female lead, Yoon Eun Hye. She and Gong Yoo both really liked CP, EH said “This drama was natural, simple and honest. On the filming sites, the atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant/cheerful. Even though I had to cross-dress in the drama, giving up the chance to pretty myself, it was because of my natural dress up that lead to even more love from the public.”
Gong Yoo says: “I never even thought that the drama’s ratings would be able to border 30%, everyone really likes this drama, EH and I both felt that even if ratings performance wasn’t that good, it definitely is an outstanding drama. During my time filming the drama, it never felt like i was going to work, more like going to have fun. It’s been a while since i’ve had fun to this happy extent! So I need to thank EH and the director.” Gong Yoo also announced: “CP might be my last work of art/creation before I serve in the army, even though i’ve already received notice that i’m to enlist in October, but it might get postponed. However, at the lastest, i will still enlist within the year.”
Aside from this, alot of viewers wish for a sequel, even helping the channel in brainstorming ideas – pointing towards YEH’s Eunchan to become the “2nd store”’s boss. MBC also expressed interest in filming a sequel, but because of GY’S enlistment he may not be able to participate.

Please, keep the original actors and actress from season 1 for the 2nd Coffee Prince (the story is still nice, interesting & simple). It will never be the same without them (except for : Min Yeop “Rest In Peace”). Please, make the 2nd CP after Gong Yoo finish his army service.. Thank you..

i saw CP when i went to the Philippines for vacation early this year and i got hooked. please, keep the original cast! won’t be the same without gong yoo. EH and GY’s chemistry is the best… i’m watching it again and hoping for a sequel…

I actually did not watch it in the Philippines when it was shown in the local channel because I really did not like the guy playing Han Gyeol. I was proven wrong. I just recently stayed in Singapore for a month. I was trying to find a job. My sister is working in Singapore so she was not around most of the time. I was bored out of my mind.. staying in their flat. I missed my son sooo much who was in the Philippines. I cried most of the time. My sister’s flat mate lent me some vcd movies to watch. But when I turned on their player low and behold Coffee Prince dvd disc 1. I said I have all the time in the world so I played it… and I was hooked. Her flatmate lent me the rest of coffee prince… I love their tandem, it feels like I was falling in love again… I love gong yoo’s character. He proved me wrong. I love every bit about Coffee Prince…
I know it is not going to be same without Lee Eon with the sequel but I think wherever he is he would be happy if you really pushed for CP 2. And Gong Yoo is the the best guy. I think everybody is willing to wait for him. It’s not the same without Gong Yoo. PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ don’t get anybody else. No one will be suitable for Gong Yoo’s role.
Coffee Prince… saved me from extrene depression… to all of the people who is involved in Cofee Prince God bless. I love coffee prince.

I’m not really a fan of watching TV dramas, but Coffee Prince has captured my heart. Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye are brilliant and have such great chemistry. Replacing Gong Yoo would break a lot of (fans)hearts and CP won’t be the same without him. I don’t think fans would appreciate a sequel w/o the original cast. CP is an intelligent Korean drama and the actors have all portrayed their roles perfectly. No need to rush on doing a sequel — we fans are willing to wait as long as Gong Yoo is cast again. I commend the people behind this production — you’ve all worked so hard and it shows esp. w/ the quality of direction and acting. The story-line is well-thought of and original. And Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye’s on-screen chemistry just sizzles! They make me want to fall in love again! (Sigh!)

I really likw the sequel movie of coffee prince…i really enjoyed watching it..i even bought a dvd for this..iill be sad if Goong Yoo will not be the one to participate on the next sequel..coffee prince will not be called as such if Goong Yoo’s not there to perform as Choi Han kyul..we want him to be the male lead star together with YEh as his partner..they are relly a good love team…

Thoughh when Eun Chan was going to leave for two years and everybody was going in to say goodbye, it was sooo touching~
I cried too, blehh. My left eye hurts. I want to start watching it all over.
Favorite part was when Eun Chan acted like she hasn’t been in a car before, lol’s. It was cute watching her move around and touch buttons.
Also when they went to that fancy store and she sat down and told Han Kyul to look at her. She then used the hand of a model to lift the middle finger up, and he threw clothes at her. Hilariooooooooous ! :]

By the way, coffee prince 2 will not be as enjoyable and effective if gong yoo will not be yoon eun hye’s partner. Please, please wait for gong yoo. Coffee Prince will not be the same if you replace the original cast, except of course Lee Eon (God bless his soul). The whole cast and crew have created something truly special with coffee prince which really captured the viewer’s heart. Keep it up.

hi! i’m from the philippines. i’m so addicted to coffee prince. it always makes my day. i’ve been watching re runs @you tube and it really help me relax especially after a stressful day. it always makes me smile and i love all the characters in coffee prince. it’s just the best korean comedy romantic drama i’ve watched. gong yoo and yoon eun hye have very good chemistry. i love the way they laugh at themselves whenever they make a mistake with their lines. watch the coffee prince ngs. enjoy!!

I just learned today through my email sent to me Last August 22, that Lee Eon or also known as Min Yub died in a motorcycle accident last August 21. It was so shocked that he died at an early age of 27, our CP castings will never be the same again without Min Yub. I sympathize with the friends and most especially the family of Lee Eon. Gong yoo and Eun Hye look very natural as a couple in this film… they are great couple.. so please, don’t make the sequel of CP without Gong Yoo.. I believe, a lot of people agree with me.. CP is definitely stunning. If MBC stated to make the sequel, hopefully the company would wait until Gong Yoo finishes his army service. Because if we keep continuing the plan to create the sitcom without existed leading role, CP would never be the same again.
There must be something awkward reminiscing of Gong Yoo and Eun Hye’s act in the first season is definitely bewitched viewers in Indonesia. Including me.. ^^,
The second season expected to be more funny and surely, romantic.
Wondering story about the waffle-man, Manager Hong, Eun Sae and Min Yeop or even ha Rim and “Pyora”, or others.

To have a proper season 2 you must have all the main charaters return, without it will be settling for 2nd best. What makes the series a success is the actors that created the characters in the first place, so I would beg the producers to wait for Gong Yoo. Even though it’s another year, it would be a big mistake to put any other actor in the role and character that he created.
