MBC have interest for Coffee Prince Season 2
Lead by Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye, Korea’s MBC Channel’s popular drama Coffee Prince broadcasted Episode 17 Finale on the 26th August. Unfortunately, ratings were unable to break 30%, only reaching 27.7%. MBC has already expressed interest in filming a sequel
The night before, Coffee Prince’s actors and staff went to some Charcoal beef restaurant in Seoul for celebration party and to watch the finale together. On the night, bills were paid by female lead, Yoon Eun Hye. She and Gong Yoo both really liked CP, EH said “This drama was natural, simple and honest. On the filming sites, the atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant/cheerful. Even though I had to cross-dress in the drama, giving up the chance to pretty myself, it was because of my natural dress up that lead to even more love from the public.”
Gong Yoo says: “I never even thought that the drama’s ratings would be able to border 30%, everyone really likes this drama, EH and I both felt that even if ratings performance wasn’t that good, it definitely is an outstanding drama. During my time filming the drama, it never felt like i was going to work, more like going to have fun. It’s been a while since i’ve had fun to this happy extent! So I need to thank EH and the director.” Gong Yoo also announced: “CP might be my last work of art/creation before I serve in the army, even though i’ve already received notice that i’m to enlist in October, but it might get postponed. However, at the lastest, i will still enlist within the year.”
Aside from this, alot of viewers wish for a sequel, even helping the channel in brainstorming ideas – pointing towards YEH’s Eunchan to become the “2nd store”’s boss. MBC also expressed interest in filming a sequel, but because of GY’S enlistment he may not be able to participate.

I really love this drama….It’s easygoing,all natural,cheerful,n i love the atmosphere of this drama….YEH n GY are really match…I’m hoping for the season2….so no matter how long i have to wait,it doesn’t matter.if i can see YEH n GY n the other cast crew again…..

that even though Choi Han kyul mistaken Eun Chan
as a boy he still confessed his true feeling no matter Eun Chan

i enjoy watching the drama a lot and when i finish watching it, i become depressed because it is the end of the story. i hope there will be lot2 of sequel of this drama as it will never end because i like the drama a lot. i like the eun chan character in the drama and i hope i can be as cheerful as her. This drama make me feel like flying. thanks for making this wonderful story. really hoping for the sequel. pleaseeeeee…..

im really really hoping for the season TWO! of this series! i really really love coffee prince.. as in its endless (maybe??).. it is a very good drama no doubt!..=).. YOON EUN HYE were so good! she’s the best!…. then with matching GONG YOO!… its the most delicious mix of coffee (not literally huh?..)
EXTRA ORDINARY (YEH) + HOT (GY) = A VERY GOOD THUNDEM!…

I could watch straight through without having to stop because of frustration with the storyline! ^_^
I would love to see a second season, but I don’t know how it will be if Gong Yoo isn’t there!! I really hope he can still be in it!!

coffee prince is the best korean novela i’ve ever watched believe me! i’ve watched it for more than 5 times i really love the actors who portrayed the roles especially gong yoo and yoon eun hye, the success of coffee prince is also because of them i am really hoping for it’s sequel but please it must be the same actors! im really surprised it didnt have that many viewers. coffee prince was one of the best dramas ive ever seen english/korean/asian in general.
the character depth and development is spot on. the side characters are as interesting as the main roles! i just love it and i really hope all the same actors come back for a sequel!

CP is the first favorite K-drama for me. I’m willing to wait for a CP2 with Gong Yoo and Eun Hye. Without them (& all same cast), it’s never been the same. I just think about the time that My Chan spent for 2 years in Itali. It could be resonable to have CP2 in 2009 or 2010. That time GY will back to be Han Kyul..hey..hey..hey I hope that.

Cp has been nominated for the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, and Yoon Eun Hye has been nominated too for the best female lead role for portraying Eun Chan, let us hope that she will be able to take home the award she truly deserves.

I remembered when Eun chan said to han kyul. ( It’s from the Episode (13) – 35:32 ) .
Han kyul was asking her opinion about going away to US, and she let him go although she’s really not …. With her sad face she said to han kyul,
“i’ll just think you’re going to the military service and wait patiently for you “…
Hmm.. i’ve got these feelings that coffee prince 2 will still have “our han kyul” in it. So for those out there.. To all the fans of GYEH , lets pray for them both.. and wait patiently as what “my chan your chan” has said to Han kyul okay ?

cp is simply one of the best dramas i have ever seen. it has such a nice plot and talented cast members.
i sure am ready (like the other fans) to wait long for the sequel of cp but please make sure that gong yoo will still be part of the cast. its okay for me to wait till he finishes being part with the army i`m just hoping that he will really still be part of the cast. i just can`t imagine cp without gongyoo. but i do can imagine what a success the sequel would be with gong yoo around.
i also look up to the great talent of yoon eun hye. it sure is a good choice to pair her up with gong yoo. so please. let`s maintain the cast. it sure will be a great hit like cp.

I really hope there will be a release on the official soundtrack and CP dvd in the Philippines with an Eng sub. Thanks to GMA Network as well for airing in again, sometimes even I am working I can’t help but to watch it on my mobilephone at GMA-Live. MBC please make a SEASON 2 OF CP with the same castings. It’s a good new that MBC interest for CP season 2. Don’t worry about GY’s enlistment. I think all fans can wait until he come back, although it’s take 2 years. From now you can prepare the project and start when he come back.

CP is my first Korean drama of watching. It has been broadcasting in Thailand for sometimes but never catched my attentions because of the insane plot of the hero could not detect the sex of the heroine. However, I run into Gong Yoo performance. He is talent, plenty of charisma,attractive and natural. His performance reminds me the good old days. Thanks to his acting refinement.
Eun Hye is also very gorgeous and talent. Unfortunately,her appearance in the final scene of the finale was very disappointing. Her outfit, her hairstyle spoiled and ruined her performance. An Italian graduated could do better in her style than that though she hardly dressed up before leaving for Italy. The finale was a bit too concise for the end unless you have had planned for the sequel. A lot more to tell, Eunchan shall present her coffee skills and knowledge from Italy and prove her worthiness to the hero’s family. The Hero could show his more comprehensive business abilities to succeed the family business on top of merely a stand alone coffee shop. Fun and obstacle of their marriage life. biological dad vs brought-up parents, the supporting couple’s marriage and affairs, etc.
I believe the sequel will be warmly welcome and again a big hit with the same competent casting. If not it will be a big mistake and misery. I believe all fans are willing to wait for the identical cast of Gong Yoo, Yoon Eun Hye and the others. Don’s let the fans down.
Meanwhile, we can enjoy the original CP again and again while being kept waiting.
